CustodyBASE
Technology shaped by real police station experience.
A specialist software project by Andrew Robbins, founder of Smarter Consulting.
Police station representation involves more than attending an interview.
There are instructions to manage, important times to record, information to organise, work to document and administrative tasks to complete.
For representatives working across different police stations and solicitors’ firms, keeping track of that information is an important part of professional practice.
CustodyBASE is a software project being developed by Andrew Robbins to explore practical ways of supporting the organisation and administration of police station representation.
Built Around the Work
CustodyBASE draws on Andrew’s experience as an accredited police station representative and his background in developing specialist software.
The project focuses on the administrative and record-keeping challenges that arise during police station work.
Areas being explored include:
- Organising police station matters
- Recording key attendance and interview times
- Managing matter references and administrative information
- Supporting attendance records and reporting
- Recording mileage and relevant expenses
- Exploring ways to reduce repetitive administration
The objective is straightforward: to consider how technology can make the administrative side of police station representation more organised and efficient.
Experience Behind CustodyBASE
Andrew previously founded IVSTITIA, the technology business behind myRJ, a secure case-management platform developed for restorative justice services.
That experience, combined with his current work in police custody, provides an understanding of both software development and the practical needs of professionals working within criminal justice.
CustodyBASE brings those interests together.
