Smarter Consulting is a very personal, user-friendly and totally confidential Legal and Business Affairs service.

I build a comfort zone between the things you already know and the time you might hit the panic button.  The broader that zone the more money I will save you - because on the other end of the panic button is a Lawyer or Accountant who will charge you by the hour.

My overheads are low so I can charge typically one third of what a Solicitor would cost. In 99% of cases my involvement will certainly reduce the need for Lawyers and may remove them altogether.

Most of your Legal and Business affairs can be dealt with between you and me. You know your business and what you want to achieve. I know about legal and business issues and how rarely in the real world you actually need a Solicitor.  

I believe in keeping things simple and understandable. In discussions and especially in legal documents

One of my specialities is drafting legal documents in plain and understandable English - a godsend especially when you are trading internationally.   And if you can't avoid a contract full of ‘hereinbefores’ and ‘whereinafters’ then I’ll be on hand to de-toxify it as we go along.

Another of my specialities is taking an active part in the negotiations leading up to a commercial deal. I’ll make sure the art of achieving what you want is not overwhelmed by the means used to get it. The deal is crucial-the contract is a necessary evil.  Can I make this stick with lawyers?  Yes, because I'm a lawyer myself.
